Please don't confuse the lackluster posting frequency for another time when Philippe drops the ball on his beloved blog. Au contraire mes amis (That's French for Oh conTRAYR my friends), I am on a quick little vacation that has afforded me the opportunity to recharge my depleted batteries - now if I only could figure out a way to recharge my depleted bank account....but I digress.
This quick little entry is to talk about the recent posts on Information Week regarding sales and app download volumed for the Palm Pre (with the obvious comparisons to the iPhone in its various incarnations).
While it's good to see, if you believe the unofficial stats, that Palm has sold about 150,000 devices since the Pre's launch and that about one million apps have been downloaded, I can't help but feel as if we must be cautious. Let's just wait until we hear from Palm themselves I say. I've been playing around with the unit they sent me and there's no question it's a great device. I actually also really like how the device handles OTA firmware updates, and last but not least the App Store.
So bottom line, Palm is definitely back on the right track. Let's wait for them to tell us just how far they've gotten a month post launch. (Hint hint Palm - might be a cool thing to do a press release on!)
Back to my vacation
