One might think from the title of my latest post that I am still recovering from too much turkey from the recent Thanksgiving dinner. I'm here to say that I was very good this year at moderating my consumption of turkey and all the traditional accoutrements. That said, I spent Thanksgiving with my in-laws, who both hold positions in the local public school system. I know this may be a shock to some, but enterprise mobility is not one of the things that is on the top of their minds. I know that for the most part they don't fully understand what I do, but it's always fun trying to re-explain and share why it's important. If anything, it was also a good opportunity for me to reflect on the importance of mobility in the enterprise.

On the heels of having spent a few days in Orlando, I spent the first half of last week at Avaya's industry analyst conference which was held in Boston, MA. While I could go on about how these conferences are as much reunions for the analysts as they are an opportunity to learn about the vendor in question, I must admit to having enjoyed the opportunity to spend some time with old and new friends in, of all places, a renovated jail.

As I mentioned in my last post, I attended this past week the annual Mobile Enterprise Executive Summit. The description for the event stated
"We've designed the Summit to offer executives, directors and managers the opportunity to learn about the strategic benefits of mobile technology and how a mobile implementation can improve their businesses."
Did they deliver? You bet they did.

It's early Wednesday morning and I still need to pack for my trip to Orlando in a couple of hours. I'm hosting a panel on mobile device management at the Mobile Enterprise Executive Summit. Big surprise to see me running late - it's been an incredibly busy time for me since I got back from Interop. I've been fielding a survey on the state of enterprise mobility and have collected so far just under 600 responses to the survey. Needless to say, it's going to provide me a rich data set to mine on a wide variety of mobility topics including device management.
